Getting to/from Prague

Prague is easily accessible by plane, train, or car from all major European cities. Václav Havel Airport Prague is located 12 kilometers from the city center. All railway stations are connected to the metro (subway).

Public transportation

Traveling by city transport requires a valid ticket. Passengers must purchase tickets before boarding a vehicle or entering the metro system. Tickets can be purchased from slot machines at each metro station, on select buses and trams, or via the Lítačka mobile app.
A single-transfer ticket costs either 39 CZK (valid for 30 minutes after validation) or 50 CZK (valid for 90 minutes after validation). A 24-hour ticket costs 150 CZK and a 72-hour ticket costs 350 CZK.

Metro
The Prague Metro network consists of three lines, designated by letters (A,B,C) and differentiated by color (green, yellow, red). The Metro operates daily from 5:00 to 24:00. The time interval between trains is approximately two to three minutes during rush hour and about ten minutes during off-peak hours.

Trams and buses
The usual daytime operation of trams is from 4:30 to midnight. The interval between trams is approximately 5-10 minutes during rush hour and 15-20 minutes during off-peak hours. Nighttime operation is from 0:00 to 4:30. The central transfer station for nighttime lines is the Lazarska stop for the trams and I.P. Pavlova for the buses. The Symposium venue is easily accessible by public transportation. Take the metro line “A” to the “Malostranská” station, then take tram number 12, 20, or 22 one stop (two minutes) to the “Malostranské náměstí” stop.

Weather

Prague is situated in Central Europe, which has a mild, continental climate. The weather is usually very nice in September. Average daytime temperatures are usually above 20 °C.

Currency

The official currency is the Czech Crown (CZK).

Visa

Participants who need an entrance visa to the Czech Republic can request an official invitation letter from the Organizing Committee of ISPMA2026 confirming that their contribution has been accepted for presentation at ISPMA2026. The “invitation letter” request is included in the Registration form
